Composer // Writer // Arranger
Drew Krasner is a multi-disciplinary artist who focuses on jazz composition, vocal composition, poetry, story, and dance. His goal is to interweave these media in novel and interesting ways. Drew’s latest upcoming release, “Lullabies and Bedtime Stories” strings together various kinds of lullabies with corresponding texts to supplement the sonic space. Drew also acts as a side person, playing saxophones and clarinets with various groups and in many stylistic settings. As a dancer, he aims to explore the outer limits of motion and interconnection with sound. As a writer, he culls from the normalcy of rhyme and rap to the intricacies of circular and unfolding prose. In time, it is his goal to bring all of these elements together. For now, the coexist peacefully and separately in their own special spheres

Iceland Soundscape trio
Artists Drew Krasner (music/poetry/fiction) and Jeremy Pailler (illustration/animation) met at NES Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, Iceland in June 2014. Based on their transformative experience with the country’s landscape and culture, they began brainstorming what would eventually become the Iceland Soundscape Trio, an interdisciplinary art project of sensory immersion and transportation. Primary goal: take the participant to Iceland/let people in on one of the world’s best kept natural secrets.
To do this, Drew has written 10 original songs for piano trio with corresponding poems after 10 specific Icelandic elements that work together to create the unique physical and cultural of the island. The third element of the trio is visual and has been crafted by French artist, Jeremy Pailler. Each song/poem also has a corresponding illustration done in watercolor and ink. In the same vein as the overall project’s aim, all of the illustrative cards come together, like a puzzle, to form a larger picture of Iceland. The complete product consists of audio CD and illustrative cards with poems on the back, all inside of a box set. All of this is completed except for the printing of the box set, which will be completed by the end of June. Along with this physical product, Jeremy has created an animated videos of his illustrations that will be accompanied by chronological (album order) snippets of the music overlaid with audio of Drew’s voice reading the corresponding poems.

The Lost art of the Letter
“The Lost Art of the Letter” is a collection of jazz tunes from the early days at Berklee College of music, ranging from the funky to the contemplative, it aims to harken back to the days when we wrote each other letters by hand, intimate and self-contained.

Introflection
“Introflection” is a 16-piece vocal ensemble that transcends genre,
focuses on groove and dense harmony, blurring the line between vocal jazz ensemble and chorus. Their first offering, the EP “Ice Cream for Dinner,” gives a good look into all corners of these stylistic worlds.

Apartment Sessions
Apartment Sessions was a multimedia arts collective that made large-scale arrangements of songs in cramped apartment spaces. They then modulated to take trips around the country and world and take advantage of natural locations, such as Nashville, Philadephia, and Iceland. Drew was honored to be a part of this group as an arranger, composer, and producer.
